Pakistan's Minister of Planning Azad Umar has announced that Pakistan's lockdown restrictions have been extended to May 9 to curb the spread of coronavirus.
Umar said the decision was taken after consultation with all provincial governments. He said the number of patients in Pakistan could increase in the next few weeks.
According to the Johns Hopkins University, 11,940 coronavirus cases and 253 deaths have been reported in Pakistan.
The head of the World Health Organization (WHO) on Thursday warned that over 200,000 people in Pakistan could get the coronavirus by mid-July if there is no effective intervention.
