Investigation of 'Wildlife Minister's Jeep accident' on hold

Investigations into the Wildlife Minister SM Chandrasena's 'Jeep accident' has been stopped,according to reliable sources.

In the said accident,a luxury SUV in which the Minister of Environment and Wildlife resources had been traveling towards Anuradhapura, had collided head-on with a motorcycle.

The accident occurred on January 16 around 7.30 pm in the Ranpathwila area in Kahatagasdigiliya on the Puttalam-Trincomalee road.

The motorcycle rider, woman pillion rider and a little girl were rushed to the Kahatagasdigiliya hospital following the crash, however the motorcycle rider-a civil defence officer had succumbed to injuries shortly after.

However, the minister's party stated that the minister was not in the vehicle at the time of accident ,But police said that one evidence was found saying 'minister was in the vehicle at that time.'
