Internet facilities suspended without any prior notice

Internet facilities suspended in Gampaha and North Western province without any prior notice.

The government has begun to fully block internet services in the contentious areas . Internet facilities were completely blocked in Gampaha and North Western provinces on 13th and 14th.

The most important thing is internet services were completely blocked without a pre-notice.People who do business and other works through the internet face huge problems with this situation. Sri Lankans in foreign countries calls to their family in Sri Lanka through skype, IMO, viber, and whatsapp. With this situation they can't get connected. If the government takes a certain action, the public should be aware of it. At least the relevant Mobile Connection company should inform to their customers.

At the same time, people who did not know about this data block, they had restart and reset the devices. If there was a previous notice, it wouldn't be like this.

According to the Dialog company, government has ordered on 13th and 14th to block all internet facilities for Gampaha Area and North Western Province.

In reply to an gmail Dialog said that Data services were fully blocked according to an order done by telecommunications regulatory commission.
